"Controlling Time, Simple Steps to Shutter Speed Mastery" by Jim Landers
Stopping time/motion, extending time/motion, summarizing time/motion, and even making parts of an image completely disappear! -- Things that humans cannot do, but with the tools available on a camera you can! Jim will prove that humans are invisible!
This fun, silly, light-hearted, informative program will start by talking about shutter speeds as photography tools, then we expand our knowledge to accomplish things humans cannot! Like photograph the Alamo in the middle of the day with no one visible in the photograph. But this program isn't "all talk, no action." -we take action: one lucky volunteer is going to look like a ghost!
Jim is a professional photographer and photography instructor for over two decades, Jim wanted to be a photographer since he was six years old. The first wedding he ever photographed was in the summer before he started high school. Jim earned a Bachelor's degree in Photography in 1991, and has photographed U.S. Presidents, Ambassadors, Governors, sports figures, TV and movie starts, and many local business owners and executives. One of his portraits is at the Smithsonian Institution- but his favorite subjects are local families! Even Kodak has used his work to advertise their professional films (Portra, in June of 1999). Even more than doing, Jim loves to teach. He has over 8,000 hours of photography teaching experience, taught over 3,000 students, written over 100 photography classes, and started the only full-time professional-portrait-photography-focused school in the area in 1997. And now, with his flag-ship program Career Photographer, is training the next group of highly profitable photographers.
Jim married his wife, Robin, in the Summer of 1994 and they have two boys in college. Robin is active and plays a very important part of the business, keeping the wheels spinning behind the scenes. Jim believes he could not do it without her!
So... come check out this fun and exciting program! It will not disappoint!
